A short history
Adzone first started operating in 1999. Back then we were just starting out and did a bit of everything really – from strategy, to design, media engagement, events, copywriting and public relations. We were more of a full service communications agency. During those first 10 years we had a great deal of fun and learnt a lot about running a small communications business in quite a competitive environment.
It was during that period, Adzone’s core strength in strategy was called on more often than other services, and we began to specialize and provide communication strategy consulting services through marketing agencies and to clients directly.
As Adzone’s focus changed, Sara Butchart took on the primary consulting role, working with other specialist service providers when needed and taking on consulting roles for communication agencies. That was a really exciting time – and by 2010 Adzone developed new models and approaches for all sorts of communication needs – for agencies, corporate affairs, marketing and CSI departments, government departments and NGO’s.
Over the past five years, Adzone has also developed additional competency in the fields of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Stakeholder and Public Engagement and in the field of content development. We have learnt much from our clients and have found some excellent global best practice models that are really great for developing strategies that work.
In addition, we have added innovation-coaching services and developed a programme to help clients achieve their creative potential, as a unique aspect of the business.
Today we position ourselves as providing “Sustainable Marketing Strategy”. We work from our home offices in Fourways Joburg in Gauteng, South Africa (where the traffic is terrible, but the people are terrific) and travel to clients when they need us.
